As a devoted yogi, I am inspired daily by the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the Change.” I think that phrase eloquently and succinctly describes the status of Blast PR.

The first 10 years of our business were spent entirely on the East Coast, building a team of incredible people with amazing PR skills and developing strategic communication plans for our clients – who, without exception, were dynamic and inspiring. We were off to a great start.

A few years ago, after a serendipitous trip to Santa Barbara for a client meeting, Bryan and I decided to “Be the Change” and moved the family (and several Blasters) to Santa Barbara to be closer to our West Coast clients and to build a life here on the Central Coast.

That “sea to shining sea” move kicked off a series of incredible events that set the trajectory for the next decade. We opened up an office in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara. Lana McGilvray joined as Principal and opened an office in Austin, TX. (With her, by way of her husband, came the stellar team at Pentagram Design, who we have to thank for our new logo and beautiful new website.) We brought on Aimee Kessler Evans as our new VP and queen of content creation and culture, and established a footprint in The Great White North (eh?). Blast now has offices across North America and works with clients all over the world.

Change is all around us and it feels amazing.

This year was also filled with incredible client milestones. The Network Advertising Initiative was featured on CNN, AdSafe Media is now Integral Ad Science, Infolinks is combating banner blindness, Mixpo and Martini Media are everywhere. Other clients are also making headlines and changing the industry.

Be the Change. Breathe. Remain Present. Enjoy. We have many things to be thankful for.
And we are loving every minute of it.
