As SXSW kicked off, all three of Blast PR’s principals collaborated in our Austin regional office to make sure that everything went smashingly well. The great news? It went even better than anyone could have expected.
On Saturday morning, hundreds gathered at the Bungalow on Rainey Street to listen to data rock star Nate Silver courtesy of Media6Degrees, Adometry, Neustart and others. The event was overflowing and might have been hampered by a light drizzle had Adometry not come prepared with 300 or so umbrellas. Was their weather data scientist in the house? We wouldn’t be surprised!
That same evening, a great showing of some of The CMO Club’s 600+ members made it out to The Rattle Inn for a SXSW roundtable dinner and after party. The after party and concert was co-hosted by MoFilms and featured winning videos from brands including Chevy and Reebok. Networking with filmmakers and CMOs at the same time made for a lively evening that will be hard to forget.
It was a successful and informative first day at SXSW, but we didn’t have time to sit back and rest now. Day two was almost dawning, and with it would come another packed series of events to attend and enjoy!
